Butler County man dies from H1N1

COLUMBUS, OH (FOX19) - The Ohio Department of Health says a Butler County man in his 40s has died from H1N1, or Swine Flu.

The man died on June 29. It is the first death in Ohio linked to the pandemic. Health officials say the patient had underlying health problems that may have contributed to his death.

The H1N1 infection was confirmed at the ODH laboratory on Thursday. ODH is not releasing any more details at this time in order to protect confidentially.

There have been 332 H1N1 deaths worldwide, including 127 in the United States, according to the World Health Organization. As of Wednesday, ODH was reporting 108 confirmed and six probable H1N1 cases to date.
