CINCINNATI (FOX19) - With helicopters and eagle eye law enforcement, Northside hasn't seen this much excitement since the Fourth of July parade.

But instead of celebrating the past, it's the thought of the future that got Northsiders excited this morning as the Vice President of the United States came to personally announce that a redevelopment project would receive 1.6 million dollars to turn the American Company into the Factory Square project, with 100 lofts and commercial leasing.

Vice President Biden  holding up his announcement  to personally  congratulate the developer Steve Bloomfield.

I asked Bloomfield "How did it feel to have an audience with Vice President?"  His answer?  It's just wonderful he chose American Can Building, it's very important to Cincinnati and Northside Community."

Northsiders like Stephanie Sutherland, Executive Director or the Northside Community Urban Redevelopment  league.

"You put V.P'S stamp of approval things have to got get done I think it's spectacular."

The Vice President used the platform to defend the federal stimulus saying it's saving and creating jobs with projects like this.

"I hear nothing, other than criticism, I didn't take this job, Barack didn't take this job, to do nothing.  We did it to rebuild America."
