CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton County Sheriff Simon Leis ripped off his glasses and slammed his hands on his desk over frustrations with Hamilton County budget.

"I'm almost sick," said Leis. "I wake up in the middle of the night and I'm sick to see what happened to this agency."

The sheriff closed the Queensgate Jail and slashed 230 jobs in his first round of cuts. Now, the county says he needs to shave another $2 million.

"What they're doing is destroying the agency and they're jeopardizing public safety in this county," said Leis. "I mean, what the hell sense does it make?"

Leis says even using drug bust money will not prevent more layoffs and wants to use some of the counties Banks project money.

"I got a little problem with The Banks," he said. "Why are we pumping all that money in the banks?"

County commissioners say The Banks money does not come from the county's general fund, so it can't be used to balance a budget.  Meanwhile, the sheriff says he will announce his layoffs in a week.
