1 killed, 2 hurt in Western Hills Viaduct crash

WESTERN HILLS, OH (FOX19) - One person is dead and two people are injured after a crash on the Western Hills Viaduct.

It happened Monday evening just before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Spring Grove Ave.

Police say Laurel Henderson, 35, of Norwood, was operating a Jeep Cherokee southbound on Interstate 75 and exited onto the lower deck of the viaduct. She lost control of her vehicle and traveled left of center, and was struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Mark Carlton, 38, of Florence.

Henderson was admitted to University Hospital in critical condition. Her passenger, Karrie Wright, 29, of Oakley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say neither woman was wearing a seat belt.

Carlton received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Police say he was wearing a seatbelt.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident. No charges have been filed. Any witnesses to the incident should call the Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
