UPDATE: SWAT stand off in Lincoln Heights ends

LINCOLN HEIGHTS, OH (FOX19) - A SWAT standoff in Lincoln Heights ended Thursday morning after the suspect shot himself.

It all started around 3:45 a.m. at a home on Liggett when a man was outside his home threatening to kill himself with a gun. Family members called police when the man wouldn't listen to them, then SWAT was called in.

Police say SWAT members used a flash bang and bean bags to distract the suspect around 9 a.m. The suspect then shot himself in the chest and was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown.

No other people were hurt.

Police say charges are pending.
