SOUTH CUMMINSVILE, OH (FOX19) - Family members and friends held a vigil Thursday night after a teenager was shot and killed Thursday morning in South Cumminsville.
Shots were fired around 9:30 a.m. in the 3700 block of Borden St. Family members say 16 year old Marcus Hooten died in the shoot. They say he was walking to his job at the St. Pius Chuch when he was shot. Friends and family say that Marcus was a talent in sports and gave back to his community by volunteering.
"He had his whole life in front of him and now it's gone," says Robert Dixon. Dixon told Fox19 Marcus was his nephew. "It's just my sister in law, you know, she's just not going to be able to take it. She died, right down the street when her son died. And she can't even face it."
Late in afternoon, members of the community gathered at the church to hold a vigil for Marcus and his family. A crowd said prayers and asked God to stop violence in the community. Several religious and community leaders attended the service.
Police are looking for two teenage suspects. So far there are no other leads in this case.
