CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Zoo has announced the winning names of its four-month old Malayan tiger cubs.
After sifting through more than 3,000 names from across the country during a 17-day contest, judges from the Cat House Animal Care Staff and the Zoo's Curator of Mammals finally selected four winning names.
They are Tahan (Ta-Han, Malaysian for strength and endurance, of Cincinnati); Bashir (ba-SHEER, meaning harbinger of good things, submitted by ); Kadar (ka-DAR, meaning powerful); and Tanvir (Tan-veer, meaning strong).
The people who submitted the names, Christina Martin of Cincinnati, Rachel Gaines of Kettering, Ian Gabby of Oxford and Christine Tan of Cincinnati will all receive a basic family level membership to the Zoo.
