Beauty and Skin Care

The Micropeel®

The Micropeel® is a three-step process that removes a micro-thin top layer of skin. The top layer is a significant obstruction to having better skin, because the pores are clogged. The procedure is safe, effective, and can be completed in 15-20 minutes.

The Micropeel® Plus

The Micropeel® Plus is a fifteen minute in-office procedure that will help smooth fine lines and help even skin discoloration while simultaneously reducing the appearance of acne scars and environmental damage to the skin. The Micropeel® Plus procedure stimulates cell turnover through the application of salicylic acid in the form of microcrystals using MicroSponge® technology. These microcrystals target the exact areas on the skin that need improvement. The MicroPeel® Plus aggressively outperforms other superficial chemical peels by freeing the skin of all dead cells while doing no damage to the skin.

Microdermabrasion: Particle Skin Resurfacing

Microdermabrasion is an FDA approved procedure that is achieved by using a highly controlled spray of fine aluminum oxide crystals under pressure in vacuum. This procedure acts to remove the outer layer of skin in a general controlled manner. The procedure when used in a series of treatments, promotes discernible changes in texture, color, and appearance.

Accupeel TCA Mask

TCA or Trichloroacetic acid is one of the most commonly used facial skin resurfacing agents. A liquid formulation has been safely and successfully used for decades, by dermatologist and plastic surgeons worldwide. The AccuPeel TCA mask is a cream formulation of TCA. By a process called Chelation, AccuPeel TCA mask delivers a superficial peel. It can be delivered by liquid TCA, but the AccuPeel TCA mask delivers it with less pain and stinging, faster and more predictable healing, and smoother application.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

Laser (Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation) skin resurfacing utilizes a laser to remove layers of damaged, acne prone or wrinkled skin primarily on the face. The laser is effective in removing fine lines around the mouth and eyes as well as addressing facial scars and uneven pigmentation.

Laser Hair Removal

A modern alternative to painful and time consuming waxing and shaving is the permanent hair reduction laser. The heat produced by the laser causes permanent changes to the hair follicle. The laser light actually converts to heat as it passes through the upper layer of skin and targets the pigment melanin found in hair follicles. As a result, the hair follicle is prevented from immediately returning.

Permanent Make-up (Micropigmentation)

Micropigmentation is a method of applying micro insertions of natural pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. Micropigmentation is used for a variety of permanent cosmetic enhancements, such as, permanent eyebrows, eyeliner, and lip liner.

Clearlight Acne PhotoclearingTM

Acne is one of the most commonly treated skin disorders in America, occurring in up to 80% of people at some stage in life. The effects of acne can cause emotional distress in young teenagers and adults of all ages. Traditional acne treatment consists primarily of topical creams and oral-antibiotics that can have mild to severe side effects and lengthy treatment regimens. The New Clearlight Acne PhotoclearingTM system is the first medical treatment to significantly clear inflammatory acne lesions in as little as four weeks without the side effects associated with harsh medications and topical creams.

Ultrasonic Facial

At The Plastic Surgery Group, we have incorporated the ultrasonic facial into our skin care program to help reduce the visible effects of hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, brown spots and acne scarring. Most importantly, the ultrasound is great for all skin types including sensitive and ethnic. If you have experienced irritation from Acid Peels or the use of topical medications such as Retin-A, the ultrasonic facial may be the skin care solution that best fits your specific needs.

VBeam Laser

The VBeam laser treats a variety of common skin conditions. The VBeam is ideal for spider veins, rosacea, red birth marks and discolored scarring. When used in conjunction with Microdermabrasion (Particle Skin Resurfacing), the VBeam has shown a reduction of fine lines and toning of the skin in many patients.

Thermage is a cost-effective and non-invasive procedure for restoring a more youthful appearance to the face. This innovative technology, which is FDA approved, is the first non-invasive technology proven to tighten the skin. While the Thermage procedure is not a replacement for a "facelift" procedure, the non-invasive Thermage alternative can provide a significant tissue tightening result if you are not ready to undergo surgery to reduce the signs of aging.

Dermabrasion can help restore evenness to the surface of the skin for patients with an irregular facial skin surface resulting from facial wrinkles, acne scarring or injury. Talk with your surgeon about the many non-surgical options, such as laser resurfacing and chemical peels available to you to help smooth and even eliminate the appearance of fine lines on the face.

Spider Veins

Spider veins are veins that have become enlarged and visible to the eye. The size of these veins tends to increase as a person ages although heredity can play a role in the onset of spider veins. Occupations where standing for long periods of time, obesity, pregnancy, and certain medicines containing estrogen may also contribute to the appearance of spider veins.

The Plastic Surgery Group offers the exclusive line of BioMedicTM skin care products and services available only through medical professionals.
