COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) - A 14-year-old girl will be charged as an adult for murder for allegedly luring a 17-year-old into a fatal ambush at her home.
The Kentucky Enquirer reports that Emily Ball was indicted on Thursday. Along with the murder charge, she is facing kidnapping and tampering with physical evidence for the Feb. 25 death of Travis White.
District Judge Douglas Grothaus, who transferred the case to adult court, described the killing as "particularly disturbing." Grothaus said in an order the evidence showed that Ball told two co-defendants, Brian Golsby and Kasey Dodson, that White allegedly assaulted her and that she wanted him dead.
She allegedly lured him to her home, where he was attacked.
An autopsy said White suffered at least 43 wounds from being beaten with various objects. Ball faces up to life in prison if convicted.
