Northern Ky dentist arrested on drug charges

LEWIS COUNTY, KY (FOX19)-- A local dentist and his passenger were arrested after drugs were found during a traffic stop.

On Wednesday around 4:30pm, the Lewis County Sheriff's Department received a call about a reckless driver around the Laurel community. A driver was pulled over after a Chief Deputy saw a vehicle driving erratically on KY 59.

When 58-year-old George Keith Miller was pulled over, the officer noticed that his speech was slurred and he appeared disoriented. According to officials he failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrested for DUI.

While police searched Miller's vehicle, they found four Hydrocodone pills and a small plastic bag that was determined to be methampetamine. Officials also found six Oxycodone pills.

George Miller was charged with DUI, and two counts of Possession of a controlled substance. His passenger was charged with two outstanding bench warrants.

Miller is a practicing dentist at Urgent Dental Care in Florence, KY.

Both are being held at the Lewis County Detention Center.
