COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A 5-year-old girl is safe after going missing in the middle of the night.
Police say Jaylan Andersen wondered away from her apartment in the 5600 block of Viewpointe around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning. She was found about 6:30 a.m. in a wooded area behind the apartment complex.
"We called in numerous forces to help with the search," said Sgt. Pete Enderle with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.
A Sheriff's helicopter, Urban Search and Rescue, the K-9 unit and bloodhounds were all called in to assist in finding the girl.
A sheriff's deputy and his bloodhound K-9 partner, Mattie, picked up the scent about 100 feet into the wooded area.
"The officer said her name and she said, 'I'm here. I'm scared,'" said Enderle.
The girl will be taken to the hospital as a precaution, but she is expected to be OK.
