TAYLOR MILL, KY (FOX19) - A man who stopped to help another man change a flat tire turned out not to be such a Good Samaritan after all.

Police say Thomas Webster, Jr., 25, stopped to help Thomas Schottelkotte, 21, of Greenfield, Ohio, change a tire on Interstate 75 in Boone County at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Webster left after changing the tire, and that's when Schottelkotte realized his cell phone, which he had placed on the tail gate, was missing.

Schottelkotte had no idea who the man was, but a deputy on the scene recalled Webster saying his father had instructed a fellow detective in martial arts. The other detective provided the name of the instructor, and the deputy was able to locate an address for the man in Taylor Mill. When he responded to the address, he found Webster and Schottelkotte's Palm Treo telephone.

Webster was arrested for receiving stolen property and was taken to the Boone County Detention Center, where bond was set at $250.
