CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton County prosecutor Joe Deters has announced the indictment of John Strutz on a charge of tampering with evidence.
Strutz was arrested last weekend at his home on Greenwell Ave. in Delhi after human remains were found at the home. Deters said the remains do involve the case of Strutz's missing wife, Kristan, but still has not confirmed whether or not the remains belong to her.
Strutz reported his wife missing on Saturday, Aug. 15 in a 911 call to police.
Strutz was originally charged with Obstructing Official Business and Tampering with Evidence. The Grand Jury ignored the less serious misdemeanor charge at the request of the prosecutor's office and returned an indictment on the felony charge. If convicted of this charge, Strutz faces the possibility of five years in prison.
Deters says more charges against Strutz are expected.
"Today's indictment is only the first sought in connection with the disappearance of Kristan Strutz," said Deters. "In the very near future, I anticipate additional charges to be returned by the Grand Jury. We are awaiting the results of forensic testing by the Hamilton County Coroner's Office."
