UPDATE: Cold Spring victim ID'd

COLD SPRING, KY (FOX19) - Police have identifed a victim who was struck and killed by a car Monday morning in Cold Spring.

He is James Joseph Obrien, of Cold Spring. He was 56 years old.

Police made the identification on Monday evening, but needed time to notify next of kin before releasing his name.


 Police are investigating an incident in which a pedestrian was struck and killed in Campbell County.

The accident happened just after 10:15 a.m. in the 4600 block of Alexandria Pike.

Police say a vehicle driven by Gloria Baumann, of Alexandria, was traveling northbound in the slow lane when she drifted into the emergency lane and struck a person jogging.

The jogger was taken to St. Elizabeth in Florence, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has not been identified. He is described as a while male about 6-feet tall and 250 pounds with red and graying hair and a goatee. He is about 50 years old and was wearing black and gray jogging shorts and a white T-shirt..
