FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - Some of the answers to Swine Flu are coming from tests going on right now here in the Tri-State.
A team at Pediatric Associates in Florence is taking part in a Center for Disease Control study on treating kids for the virus.
They have just completed the second round of testing and submitted the results. Drug makers will use those findings and others to figure out how strong of a vaccine to make for children.
"This has been an extraordinary effort on behalf of the drug companies to produce this vaccine," said Dr. Chris Cunha. "It takes awhile to produce a new vaccine and certainly its been going through testing at a very aggressive schedule."
Doctors say if all goes well, the first batches of vaccine should be out in October or November.
