Bengals game vs. Steelers sold out

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Cincinnati Bengals have announced that their Sept. 27 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Paul Brown Stadium is sold out.

The Bengals play three of their first five games on the road, so the only home game available before Oct. 18 is the Sept. 13 opener against Denver.

"I'm excited to have our first sellout this year on the books," said head coach Marvin Lewis, "and I'm hoping our fans will step up and fill Paul Brown Stadium for Denver as well. Home field advantage is a huge thing in the NFL, and we'll be looking for that large, loud sea of orange and black when we kick off the season against the Broncos."

The Bengals enter the '09 campaign with a franchise-record streak of 44 straight sellouts (regular and postseason). The last game not to sell out was in November of 2003. With last season's home finale vs. Kansas City, the Bengals broke a previous record of 43 consecutive sellouts, set between 1988 and 1992.

A sellout for Denver would mean the streak will extend to at least 46.
