CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - City workers will get another week before they may be laid off. Union leaders say they needed more time to propose a new deal to save the 166 jobs to their members.

After three meetings Friday, City Council approved a plan which inclueds moving money and concessions. The plan, arranged by the majority, requires $1.6 million in union concessions and $1.9 million in money moved from other uses. The council minority wanted to save the officers' jobs without concessions, but they needed a fifth vote to pass thier plan.

Every day the city waits for a decision costs it $37,000.
