UPDATE: Suspect in Lincoln Heights murder arrested

LINCOLN HEIGHTS, OH (WXIX) -

UPDATE: Police have made an arrest in a Lincoln Heights murder from last month.

Cameron Barron, 23, was arrested by members of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehensive Task Force (SOFAST) for the murder of Rico Rutherford, 32, of Avondale.

Barron was indicted on Sept. 29 for murder and having weapons under disability. He was arrested Wednesday in the 1000 block of Constitution Drive.

He is being held in the Hamilton County Jail.


PREVIOUSLY:

A verbal dispute ended with a deadly shooting.

Police say 32 year old, Rico M. Rutherford, of Avondale, was found lying in the street in the 1100 block of Simmons Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday.

An ambulance took him to University Hospital, where he later died.

Investigators believe the shooter was driving a gray two-door car when he fired several rounds at Rutherford and sped off.
