WALNUT HILLS, OH (FOX19) - Police are investigating what appears to be an attempted robbery at Walnut Hills High School.

According to Janet Walsh, spokeswoman for Cincinnati Public Schools, two girls arrived on campus at 6:45 Monday morning in the Senior Park Lot. After getting out of the car, they were approached by a teenager who appeared to be 12 to 14 years old. The girls said the suspect held something that looked like a handgun to the back of one of the girl's neck.

The other student jumped on the attacker, wrestling him to the ground. He then got up and ran away.

In the struggle, one of the students suffered a cut on her head, but the injury is not believed to be serious.

School officials are reminding parents to not let students arrive on campus before 7 a.m., when the school grounds are covered by security.
