Volunteer teacher dismissed for supporting nun

WESTWOOD, OH (FOX19) - A volunteer teacher has been dismissed from teaching at a local Catholic school for publicly supporting a nun who wants women to become priests.

Dr. Carol Enger was told by the school's priest to not return to Our Lady of Lourdes church in Westwood, where she taught a sixth grade Old Testament class.

Egner wrote a letter to the editor in the Enquirer in support of Sister Louise Akers, who was banned from teaching in the Diocese earlier this month for supporting women as priests.
