DAYTON, KY (FOX19) - Three Dayton High School football players have been charged for with yelling insults at a man as he was running in a park.

The players, who are all under the age of 18, are each charged with harassment.

According to a police report, the teens yelled insults at Rolf Fowee and his partner about their sexual orientation as they were running in Gil Lynn Park in August.

The football coach had the teens run extra laps, and they were also forced to write a letter of apology.

Fowee said the punishment should have been harsher, and met with the superintendent of Dayton Schools and the ACLU.
