CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto earned National League Player of the Week honors for the week ending Sept. 27.
Votto went 14-for-25 during the week, with 10 of those hits being doubles. Votto now leads the National League in slugging percentage at 1.080.
Then ten doubles came in a five-day span, from Tuesday to Saturday. The last time a player hit that many doubles in that short of a span was in 1932 by the Pirates' Paul Waner.
