CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Additional charges have been filed against a teenage girl accused of fatally hitting and killing a 13-year-old boy.

The 17-year-old girl is accused of striking Dayshaan Ballew with her car in Evanston last weekend. Ballew's 7-year-old cousin was also hit, but not seriously hurt.

Cincinnati Police added the charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and involuntary manslaughter to the teen's charges. She was already charged with vehicular homicide, failure to stop after an accident and operating a motor vehicle without a valid operator's license.

"It is our belief at this time that we can demonstrate that this defendant was driving in a reckless manner with Dayshaan was killed," said Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters. "That is the reason for upgrading the charges.

The 17-year-old will be in court Oct. 8, when she will find out if she will be tried as an adult.

The teen was arrested after police released surveillance video of her at a gas station.
