Arrest made in 2005 murder

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Police have made an arrest in a murder from 2005.

Demar Edmonds, 22, has been indicted on charges of aggravated murder, felonious assault and aggravated murder for the death of Joshua Rice, 21. He was arrested Tuesday by members of the Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (SOFAST) in the 1900 block of Kentucky Avenue.

On July 26, 2005, the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit was notified by the Newport, Ky. Police Department that they had been investigating the shooting death of a person who had been taken to then-St. Luke Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. Further investigation revealed the shooting occurred on July 21, 2005 in the 400 block of Dayton Street in the West End.

An investigation led to the arrest of Edmonds. He was 17 at the time of the murder, but he will be tried as an adult.
