HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - An alleged victim of Dr. Mark Blankenburg took the stand Wednesday as trial continued for the Butler County pediatrician.
One of the victims, who is now an adult, claimed Dr. Blankenburg would perform sex acts on him and then pay him money to keep quiet.
The victim stated the alleged abuse started when he was nine, and he was getting money from Blankenburg up until 2007.
Over the years, Blankenburg is alleged to have given the victim a total of $250,000. The victim stated he would get $200 each time Blankenburg performed a sex act, and when the victim was in his teens, Blankenburg would pay his rent, bills and bond money.
When the victim was 19, he said he was in a financial bind and told his girlfriend at the time that he knew someone who owed him. He said he called Dr. Blankenburg and said, "Do you remember me? Do you remember what you did to me?"
The victim says that conservation ended with Blankenburg giving him $3,000 in cash. He said he quickly ran out of money and kept calling the doctor and kept getting the money.
With that money, the victim said he paid various bills and bought 13 cars, including three different Cadillacs.
The victim says he has served jail time in Boone County and Butler County on various charges, and both times, Blankenburg have him money for food and phone cards.
The jury listened to one of the phone conversations when the victim was in the Butler County Jail.
Later, the victim says as an adult he met with the doctor three times a week for drugs and or money.
The victim's mother and girlfriend also took the stand Wednesday. His mother testifies that she saw stacks of money in her son's room. The victim told his mother that he got the money from "a very bad man." His mother also told the court her son said Mark Blankenburg molested him when he was a little kid.
The girlfriend of the alleged victim testified that she got several prescriptions for Xanax, even though she was not a patient of Blankenburg's. She told the court that the prescriptions were for her boyfriend, the victim. The girlfriend also testifies that the victim told her that Blankenburg molested him.
The defense fired back with he extortion allegations, saying that the victim spent the money and used the drugs to get high.
Blankenburg is facing 41 counts of sex and drug charges. He's accused of multiple counts of conduct with a minor, gross sexual imposition, compelling prostitution, bribery, money laundering and drug charges.
