WILLIAMSBURG, OH (FOX19) - The Brown County Sheriff's Office is investigating an accidental shooting in which two people where injured by the same bullet.

It happened just before 4:30 p.m. Oct. 3 in the 1500 block of Maple Grove Road.

Police say Joseph Morrison, 35, of Batavia, was shot once in the thigh with a handgun. Morrison was transported via helicopter to University Hospital.

Further investigation revealed that a second victim, John Benjamin Brockman, 31, was also injured when the same bullet grazed his abdominal area.

Police say Brockman was attempting to show Morrison a .380 caliber handgun he had recently acquired. He removed the gun from the holster and was attempting to lock the slide back on the gun when the weapon accidentally discharged. The bullet grazed Brockman's stomach and continued through Morrison's leg.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the shooting, but do not suspect foul play or alcohol being involved in the incident.

Morrison remains in University Hospital. His condition is unknown.
