Cleveland, OH (WOIO) - More fallout from the government corruption probe.

19 Action News has learned five people have been indicted for bribing city of Cleveland building inspectors.

One is with the View Nightclub, which is making headlines right now because of former Cleveland Browns wide-receiver Braylon Edwards.

Three more people are connected to the Mirage nightclub in the Flats and the last one is a contractor.

These are Cuyahoga County charges.

The inspectors are being handled by the feds.

Soon after the indictments came down Mayor Frank Jackson released this statement praising the work of CPD investigators.

"Today's indictments are a testament to the hard work and diligence of the investigators for the Cleveland Division of Police. Approximately 4 months ago, I instructed my Director of Public Safety, Marty Flask and Chief of Police, Michael McGrath to initiate an investigation into information obtained from the FBI's probe of the Building & Housing department," said Mayor Frank G. Jackson. "I commend CPD for theft thorough investigation however, we are still not done. We will continue our probe until all illegal and improper behavior is uncovered and - thereafter appropriately addressed. Further, we are in the process of implementing citywide policy updates and changes that wifi help protect the public's interest. Today's indictments help my message of "No More Business as Usual" resonate beyond the walls of City Hall."
