School bus accident in Brown County

MOUNT ORAB, OH (FOX19) - Six people were taken to the hospital Monday morning after a school bus and a Jeep collided in Brown County.

It happened just after 8 a.m. on State Route 32 near the intersection of Bodman Road.

Mount Orab Chief of Police Bryan Mount says 26 Mount Orab Elementary school students were on the bus when the crash happened. Four of the students were taken to Clermont Mercy Hospital in Mount Orab. The superintendent of Western Brown Local Schools, Jeffrey Royalty, says all of the injuries are minor.

Mount says the female driver of the Jeep was taken to University Hospital via AirCare. A child that was in the Jeep was also taken to University Hospital. Their names have not been released.

Royalty said the school has notified parents. The 22 students who were not taken to the hospital continued to school and were checked out by the school nurse.

Initial reports are that the bus and Jeep side-swiped each other. The bus was off the road, but did not overturn.
