Kimberly Holmes Wiggins

I joined the FOX19 news team as a general assignment reporter in September 2009. Eleven months later, I was blessed to become the weekend anchor. You can catch me during the week reporting for the Ten O'clock News.

I'm proud to call Cincinnati home, but as I like to say, I'm a Texan with a kick! I was born in Houston, Texas, but four years later, my dad's job transferred him to Saudi Arabia. I then spent the next ten years of my life growing up on an American compound in Dhahran. Ahlan wa Sahlan! My Arabic is pretty rusty, but I still remember the basics.

Right before landing in the Queen City, I was the weekend anchor at WBOC in Salisbury, Md. I learned how to do it all there, including: reporting, anchoring, producing and even shooting and editing many of my own stories, and many times, all in the same day! I also had the honor of covering issues of religion, race and morality for the series "Heart and Soul." My first story for the franchise focused on the "Power of Prayer." It was nationally recognized with an award from the Religion Newswriters Association.

Like most journalists, my career began behind the scenes with a number of internships. I've worked as a news writer at WPLG in Miami and as a field producer at Bloomberg Television in Washington, D.C. I've also had internships at WTVD in Durham, NC and KXAS in Dallas TX.

I graduated from Duke University in 2002 with a degree in Public Policy Studies.  I later received my master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. I am also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the National Association of Black Journalists.

We Southern girls love food so when I'm not reporting, I love to cook (and eat!) travel, hang out with friends and family, and volunteer in the community. Throughout the years, I've been a mentor, volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and worked as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. My husband Rasheed and I look forward to exploring all the Tri-State has to offer, including its many restaurants and museums.  Please say "hi" if you see us around!

Bottom line, I live to tell stories so e-mail me anytime if you have a story idea or comment at: KWiggins@fox19.com or follow me on twitter @FOX19Kimberly.

Thanks for watching FOX19!
