LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - The director of Warren County Emergency Services, Frank Young, has announced his resignation.

The resignation is effective Tuesday, Oct. 20. The Board of Warren County Commissioners will consider accepting Mr. Young's resignation at their regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting on that day.

In the event that the board accepts Young's resignation, County Administrator Dave Gully is recommending to the Commissioners that John Bruce, former Police Chief of West Chester Township, be appointed as Interim Director of Emergence management for Warren County.

Gully is recommending that the Board accept Mr. Young's resignation.

"Frank Young has been an employee of Warren County since 2-13-1989," said Gully. "He has been a part of the growth of our community, and has made many positive contributions to the government of our community.  We wish him well in his future endeavors....Our time has come to take the Emergency Management Department of Warren County in positive new directions."

"After a great deal of personal consideration, I feel the time has come to pursue other goals in my life," Young said in his resignation letter. "I apologize for the short notice but I believe this step is a positive one for all."

Young's resignation comes the same week that a report was released saying a dispatcher was asleep when Ryan Widmer called to report his wife was unresponsive in the bathtub. Dispatcher Ron Kronenberger said he often "dozed" on the job.
