Pedestrian killed in hit and run accident

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Hamilton County Sheriffs are investigating a hit an run accident that killed a man early Saturday morning.

A short time before2:30am, an unknown black vehicle was traveling west on I- 74 between I-275 and SR 128 when the driver struck a pedestrian in the center lane.

The pedestrian, 44-year-old Steven Vaughn was taken to University Hospital where he died from his injuries. Officials say that Vaughn was attempting to clear vehicle debris from a three car crash that happened earlier. He was not wearing any reflective safety clothing during the incident. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

The sheriff's office is now looking for a black, possible 4-door vehicle with front end damage. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hamilton County Sheriffs at 513-825-1500 or Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
