SHARONVILLE, OH (FOX19) - Two men have been arrested after a robbery and standoff in Sharonville.

But they were let go after police learned that they did not commit the robbery.

Police say two men walked into the Sunoco in the 11500 block of Chester Road just before midnight on Wednesday and stole cash. A third man acted as a look-out.

The three men entered a car and fled the scene on westbound Kemper Road.

About ten minutes after a broadcast was put out for the suspect vehicle, West Chester Police units spotted the car in the parking lot of the Day Crest Apartments, unoccupied. A male subject walked out of one of the apartments and approached the vehicle. When West Chester officers tried approaching the suspect, he fled back into the apartment.

West Chester and Sharonville units established a perimeter around the apartment and called in SWAT. Contact was made with the suspects by phone. Around 3 a.m., the suspects came out of the apartment and were taken into custody without further incident. Police found twin 4-year old girls inside. A woman and another baby had gotten out earlier in the standoff.

The Sunoco clerk made a positive identification on the two male suspects involved in the robbery. However, police say the men did not rob the station, but they were there at the time.

The Sharonville and West Chester police departments will meet to determined whether or not charges will be filed for the standoff.

Meanwhile, police are still looking for the men who did rob the gas station. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
