MIAMI TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Police say the man who entered a women's restroom last month at Riverview Park  simply made an honest mistake.

The mother of the girl noticed the man enter the restroom shortly after her daughter. She then went into the restroom to make sure that her daughter was alright and escorted her out of the restroom.

Police say the man has been identified as a parent of a girl who was at the park during soccer practice. The suspect has been cooperative with detectives and told officials that he mistakenly went into the women's restroom.

The man says he went into the restroom stall  and didn't realize he was in the women's restroom until he heard the mother of the girl talking at the adjacent stall. When he realized he was in the women's restroom, he stayed in the stall until the mother and daughter left the restroom. he told police that he didn't think anyone was aware that he was in the restroom and didn't want to say anything that would alarm the mother and child.

he waited in the stall until they left because he was embarrassed that he had entered the wrong restroom and did not want his mistake to embarrass his daughter.

Miami Township Police say they believe the man  made an honest mistake and no charges will be filed.
