Police cruiser flipped during chase

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A traffic stop in Walnut Hills leads to a Cincinnati Police Officer going to the hospital after his cruiser flipped over on I-71 early Tuesday morning.

Around 3 a.m., Cincinnati Police officer Kevin Jones was making a traffic stop on Gilbert and Yale Avenues. That is when police say the driver took off and a chase began. The wound up south on Interstate 71 when the police cruiser flipped over and landed on its top.

Luckily, Jones only suffered minor injuries. He was taken to University Hospital to be checked out. Officer Jones has been with Cincinnati Police in District 4 since June of 2007.

The suspect in the chase was able to get away. The car that started the chase was found burned in Greendale, Indiana.

Police are still investigating the incident.
