Cincinnati property tax rollback

CINCINNATI (FOX19) – Cincinnati City Council voted 5 to 3 Thursday to reduce the city's property tax assessment level to 4.46 mills for 2010.

Council had considered keeping property tax at its current millage of 4.53, but that would have cost the owner of a $100,000 home about two bucks more a year.

Council members say the rollback was the right move for the state of the city at this point.

City officials are still planning for a 51-million budget deficit next year.
