CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A US Customs and Border Protection officer and his K-9 seized opium found hidden in women's handbags on Friday at the Cincinnati Northern Kentucky Airport.

An international shipment from Iran heading to Canada that said, "Sample of a handy bag", was selected fro an extensive examination by CBP. X-rays of the parcel revealed that there were anomalies inside two of the black leather handbags. Narcotic detector K-9 Roco, a 3-year-old German Shepard alerted to the shipment indicating that there were narcotics present.

Further investigating revealed that inside the front and back lining of the bag were several hard packages of a brown substance wrapped in plastic and carbon paper.

Both bags had the brown substance in the lining and tested positive for opium. The total weight of the seizure was 3.30 kilograms, which included the weight of the two bags and opium.
