VERONA, KY (FOX19) - Three people are dead after a crash in Boone County.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. 42 and Miller Owens Road.

Police say Tamara Roberts, 45, of Warsaw, was driving her Ford F-150 pick up truck south on U.S. 42 when she lost control and began to slide sideways into an oncoming northbound FedEx delivery truck driven by Gary Hutchinson, 55, of Dry Ridge. The two vehicles collided at a perpendicular angle.

Two passengers in the pick-up truck, Dillon Roberts, 11, and Dallas Wallace, 70, were pronounced dead at the scene. Tamara Roberts died en route to the hospital. Police say none of them were wearing seat belts.

Hutchinson suffered minor injuries. Police say he was wearing a seat belt.

The accident is being investigation by the Boone County Sheriff's Department Accident Reconstruction Unit. Preliminary investigation reveals the wet, slippery road was a contributing factor.
