I-71 reopen after chemical leak

NORWOOD, OH (FOX19) - The Northbound lanes of I-71 are finally open after a  leak from a tractor trailer shut down the highway on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:30 p.m. there was a chemical leak from a semi truck on Interstate 71, just north of the Smith Edwards exit. The highway was closed to all traffic in the northbound lanes for a couple of hours.

Police say the chemical is a corrosive cleaning agent. Hazmat crews arrived to the scene a short time before 6 p.m.

A short time after 7 p.m., all lanes were reopened. No one was hurt in the incident.
