HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - A Butler County woman has been convicted of arson, and her father implicated himself during the trial.
Simone Thomas, 32, was found guilty of arson on Tuesday during a jury trial. She was sentenced to 15 months in prison the next day.
Back in June, a Butler County Sheriff's Deputy, on routine patrol, observed a car on fire. As the deputy approached the scene, he observed a truck speeding away. Thomas and her father, Edwin Johnson, were located in the truck, attempting to hide in a driveway.
During the trial, Thomas' father took the stand and partly confessed to his role in the crime. Johnson was indicted by a grand jury on Thursday for arson, complicity to arson, arson obstructing justice.
