17 students injured in school bus crash

LEBANON, OH (FOX19) - Two school buses collided in Lebanon Tuesday, sending 17 students to the hospital.

It happened just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of Miller Road and Drake Road, near Lebanon High School.

Police say the crash involved two Kings Local School District buses that were part of five buses transporting 8th grade students on a field trip to the Warren County Career Center. The first bus in the crash slowed for a changing traffic signal and the second bus failed to stop, rear-ending the first bus.

Police say 17 students were transported to three local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Eighth-grader Amanda Shutte says she was aboard the first school bus when it was rear-ended. She says the collision shattered the rear window.

The crash remains under investigation.
