WAYNE TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - A Clermont County man turned himself into police Tuesday for a drive-by shooting in Wayne Township.
Police say Adam May, 24, formerly of Wayne Township, fired an SKS assault rifle into a home just after 6 a.m. on Oct. 31.
Nicholas Fey told police he was awakened by gunfire that morning and discovered that a bedroom window had been shot out. Eight persons were asleep in the home when the incident occurred, but not one was hurt. A neighboring home was also damaged.
As the result of a lengthy investigation, police determined that May was responsible for discharging the firearm. Investigators determined that this was a deliberate act of retaliation that stemmed from a prior incident. Charges of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation were filed, a felony of the second degree. May is awaiting trial for a charge of trafficking in drugs from a previous incident in Clinton County, Ohio.
May turned himself in to police on Nov. 24 and is currently being held in the Clermont County Jail.
