MASON, OH (FOX19) - Siddhant Gupta may sound like your typical 9-year-old boy.
"I like playing sports, doing video games, watching TV," Gupta said.
But his incredible actions are far from typical for his age; when his ninth birthday came around this October, he opted to give over receive.
"When they asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I said I wanted to donate them to the homeless kids who don't have any gifts," Gupta said.
He gave all of his birthday presents, more than 20 gifts to the City of Mason's "Hope For The Holidays" program, something he says he was inspired to do when he saw other children who didn't have all the toys he had.
"Once in a while we go to this homeless church where we give the food and the water to the homeless, and then I realized how fortunate we are," Gupta said.
It came as a surprise to Siddhant's parents, who were extremely proud of his generosity
" It's something coming from a 9-year-old -- handing over the gifts on his birthday, was a pleasant surprise for us I should say," said Rashmi Assudani, Siddhan'ts mom.
A gift that keeps on giving for the holidays.
"I've done something really good and people will be proud of me, so I'm feeling a little more thankful this Thanksgiving," Gupta said.
If you would like to donate gifts, toys or food items to the "Hope for the Holidays" program, you can bring them to the Mason Municipal Center through December 15.
