COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The State Highway Patrol says initial numbers indicate vehicle crashes and felony arrests over the Thanksgiving holiday in Ohio increased over the same period last year.
The patrol says the number of crashes rose to 590 over the period from 6 p.m. Wednesday through midnight Sunday. That compares with 469 for the same period in 2008.
Troopers say they arrested 20 people for felonies this year, compared with 17 last year.
The patrol says the number of arrests for operating a vehicle under the influence decreased from 362 in 2008 to 304 during this year's holiday period.
