RISING SUN,  IN (FOX 19) – A 17 year old boy will stay in the Dearborn County Juvenile Facility until his next court date Friday afternoon.

Tuesday, the teen charged with battery causing serious bodily injury related to the death of Conner Conley faced a judge in Ohio County.

The hearing came hours after an autopsy was conducted on the 10-year-old victim in Indianapolis.

"We did get preliminary results back but we're not going to disclose those," said Dearborn and Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard.

Negangard wouldn't release what information they now know about the cause of death and will wait until the complete report is published.

"Autopsies are critical in any death investigation," says Negangard.

Pending those results, additional charges may be filed against the teen.

The victim's family was at the hearing, but did not make a statement.

Indiana State Police officer Tom Baxter did send a message to the community.

"Things are ok," says Baxter. "People can feel safe."

Conner Conley's body was found Sunday night in a wooded area near the Rising Sun city park.

The talk throughout the small town of 2,500 is that the boys are related but Prosecutor Negangard refused to acknowledge the relationship if any between the boys or discuss a motive for the crime.
