Homicide investigation after traffic accident in Mt. Auburn

MT. AUBURN, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati Police are investigating the death of a man after an accident Wednesday afternoon.

A short time before 6 p.m., police received a 911 call in reference to an accident with a person injured at the 2000 block of Highland Avenue.

Emergency crews found 53-year-old Greg Collins unconscious behind the wheel of a car. Investigators discovered that he was traveling north on Highland Avenue when he crossed left of center and struck a parked vehicle, then rolled backwards down a few houses and struck a house. Collins was transported to University Hospital, where he died.

On Thursday, an autopsy was performed and it was revealed that Collins died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Homicide Units are now investigating the incident.
