HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A man claims a southwest Ohio pediatrician convicted of sex crimes against former patients broke a promise to pay his living expenses in return for silence about alleged abuse.
The 36-year old man sued Mark Blankenburg on Nov. 13 in Butler County. The lawsuit alleges breach of contract, medical negligence and child sexual abuse and assault. It claims Blankenburg molested the man when he was about 14 and gave him money to keep quiet.
The 53-year-old doctor was convicted in October of molesting three former patients. The man filing the lawsuit testified, but prosecutors said his abuse claims were too old to charge.
The lawsuit seeks more than $25,000 in damages.
A Blankenburg attorney says he hasn't yet discussed the suit with Blankenburg and doubts it has merit.
