Mother finds stolen merchandise in daughter's bedroom

UNION, KY (FOX19) - Police believe a number of recent thefts from cars in Boone County was solved over the weekend.

A mother in Union, Ky. found suspected stolen merchandise in her juvenile daughter's bedroom on Sunday and notified police.

Sheriff's deputies were initially able to identify stolen property from one home burglary. The 17-year-old girl was charged with burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, the teen's boyfriend, Michael Lepper, 19, of Verona, was charged with burglary and unlawful transaction with a minor.

The girl is being held in the Campbell County Regional Juvenile Detention Center. Lepper is being held in the Boone County Detention Center in lieu of a $5,000 bond.

Investigators say they will be able to solve several more burglaries and at least a dozen car break-ins after sorting through the property.
