Special Budget Meeting pushed back

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Mayor Mark Mallory said before starting Cincinnati's City Council meeting at 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon that, "This is going to be a long day."

And he meant it.

A finance committee meeting to hammer out the 2010 budget that was to start at 10 a.m. was pushed back to 3 p.m., then pushed back to 4 p.m. and pushed back again to 6 p.m. It was finally rescheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday.

Union reps hope this is a sign from the mayor that a strong budget will be hammered out and not a temporary one.

"And the last thing they want to consider is a continuation budget, they want to get it resolved," said Diana Frey, President of the C.O.D.E Union.
