CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – Susan Cline is spreading the word about the most courageous couple she knows.
Their names are Amy and David Dearinger. They live in Independence, Ky. and less than 3 years into starting their lives together, David, 33 was diagnosed with sarcoma (cancer) in July of 2007. This was after a year of misdiagnosis.
He has fought a valiant fight since then, including two major lung surgeries, two craniotomies, numerous other surgeries, along with two full rounds of chemotherapy, and three rounds of radiation. Currently despite this heavy dose of treatment, David has cancerous activity in his brain, lungs, renal area, adrenal glands, back, and peritoneum.
On Friday, Dec. 18 David is scheduled to start yet another round of brain radiation. The illness and the treatments have left David not only very weak and struggling to eat on a daily basis, but also unable to work. This has left his wife Amy, as the only income provider. As the medical expenses continue to mount, the financial strain has been placed on Amy's shoulders.
David and Amy are struggling to keep a financial balance under the mounds of bills that have accumulated over the course of David's illness. Despite, David's poor prognosis Amy's spirit has never been broken and she carries her head high and is ready to conquer the next round of chemo and radiation.
Susan and several women who graduated high school with Amy organized a benefit on their behalf. This benefit will take place on Saturday, January 16 at the Florentine Event Center (formally Elegance) located at 8605 Haines Dr. # D Florence, KY 41042.
