Cincinnati gets new indoor football team

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Cincinnati is getting a new professional indoor football team.

The Cincinnati Commandos will hold a press conference Tuesday afternoon to announce specifics of the team and its upcoming season.

The team is under the leadership of general manager Travis Johnson and head coach Derrick Shepard.

The Cincinnati Commandos are a part of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL), the longest-running indoor football league in North America.  The team will feature local and experienced talent, including Terrill Byrd (University of Cincinnati/Colerain High School); Dominick Goodman (University of Cincinnati/Colerain High School); Dustin Grutza (University of Cincinnati); Ben Mauk (University of Cincinnati/ Wake Forest); Clayton Mullins (Miami University).

The team is preparing for a ten game regular season in the CIFL.

Season tickets will be available for purchase at the Cincinnati Gardens box office and through Ticketmaster.  Group rates will be available.
